Love and Vultures.Older, lonely and hidden He longs for my touch My fingertips are repulsedLove and Vultures.
At the thought of his skin.
Younger, confused and dark We ran our hands over each other As if our lips might share secrets There was no passion in his kiss.
I rode the night train Through the lands of teenage fumblings And older men in search of a porcelain doll Before either came, and I know their game I know their sort, I don't want it any more.
Instead I exchange kisses With a mouth that hungers for mine My equal in age and love I found laughter and l

Weigh-in.Hands slapping cheeks that Are far too chubby Red-palm prints running wild As the high number on the scale Lowers my self-worthWeigh-in.
Bowing at my porcelain altar I beg for redemption In the form of acid and
Pain ripping through A body entirely too large now
One number changes a whole day Makes fear into despair Begging for an instant change To simply melt like ice I force myself to carry on.

Childhood. And so we shut ourselves down To bear burdens we should never have to take We never clap palms over our ears For our reality could not be made any worse by wordsChildhood.

Making us pay for her mistakes Our pain her transgression And yet she stands proud Expects open arms Mine stay folded on my chest I press my heart as if to silence it
Cold and angry I block her out Furious and battling all the words I so dearly want to scream out Things have changed before Her blind eyes and I can not Allow them to return to how they were.

~Don't cry out loud
Just keep it inside,
learn how to hide your feelings
Fly high and proud
And if you should fall,
remember you almost had it all~
